Regional Studies Association Working Group on Tourism, Regional Development and Public Policy invite you kindly for the Seminar: Business and cultural tourism in metropolitan areas.

 

Warsaw, Poland, 13-15 September 2009

 

The Warsaw seminar  on is going to give special attention to all dimensions of tourism exercised in cities, marketing, conditions to be met by service providers, provision of services, their impacts on cities and their development. We are looking at various problems related to tourism that takes place in metropolitan space (including conflicts, tensions and other representations of potential dysfunctions of all sorts and options to manage them).

 

Particular attention will be given to three types of tourism most characteristic for cities that is:  widely understood cultural tourism,  business tourism and  congress tourism.

Papers on innovation and product development, attraction development, public-private partnership, labour market issues, promotion of cities as  tourism destinations, place branding etc. are particularly welcome.

 

The Seminar is the third planned by the research network under auspices of the Regional Studies Association on Tourism, Regional Development and Public Policy.
